My life on the farm includes doing daily chores like feeding cows and other chores.
Most mornings we start in the shop fixing things and talking about our plan for the day. In the spring before planting, we take a crop tour, were we go around to of the fields to see if they are ready to plant. This usually takes all day.
We pull out the tractors to hook up to the planter and air drill. We then look over both rigs before heading out to the fields. In the growing season we go check on the fields every day.
A few days before harvest starts, we pull out the two combines out of storage, and we look it over.
If somethings are wrong, we call the mechanic to fix it.
We drive over the bridge to hook up to the two 40ft headers and then we drive back over to the shop and look over the headers, we make sure the reel is turning and the belts are turning and the knifes are not broken. If they are broken, we change them.
When the field is finished, we put the rigs into road mode, which makes them go faster. We unhook the headers, and we blow off all the chaff. We wash the combines, which usually take a few days all the other tractors and sprayer get washed off and they get put into storage for the winter.
In the winter we feed cows every day and we go snowmobiling.
