History of Volleyball
` In 1895 William G. Morgan invented volleyball in Holyoke, Massachusetts YMCA. He came up with the idea for people that found basketball’s” bumping” or “jolting” too difficult and so they could have an alternative physical activity to turn to. People also love it because it’s a non-contact sport as opposed to other team sports, in volleyball there is no legal contact between opponents. Volleyball can be a fun game when played with friends and family. It is a great exercise for building stamina, improving team play, building strategies, and improving fitness
One reason volleyball has grown in popularity is the diversity of the sport. Much like basketball all you need is a ball, a net, and a court, also a few other people help. Another reason volleyball is getting more and more popular is because lots of schools (almost all) play volleyball even grown men and women.
